Embrace your Inner Sparkle

Welcome
Hello there! My name is Hanna Schultheis-Gerry (she/her) and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#138178, expires 2/28/2026). As a therapist, I believe that we have an innate healer within each of us. My hope is that together we can activate this inner healer through talk therapy, play, drama therapy, and art, in order for you to live your best life. I am here to help people find and maintain what I like to refer to as their inner sparkle. I have helped clients work through anxiety, loss, grief, depression, low self-esteem and life transitions.
My therapeutic orientation is eclectic, encompassing trauma- informed and attachment-based approaches, while using play, body-based interventions and drama.
I work with children of all ages, couples, adults and families. I am currently training in Developmental Transformations, a trauma-informed body-based therapeutic improv, as well as working towards becoming a Registered Drama Therapist. Embodied practice may not be for everyone, so I like to meet clients where they are at. I offer talk therapy as well!
Originally from the Bay Area, my background is in theatre, arts education and arts advocacy. I have a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology with a Drama Therapy emphasis from California Institute of Integral Studies as well and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dramatic Writing for Television, Film and Theatre from California State University, Los Angeles. I identify as an artist-healer. If this resonates with you please reach out for a free 20-minute phone consultation.

What is Drama Therapy?
According to the North American Drama Therapy Association,
“ Drama therapy is the intentional use of drama and/or theater processes to achieve therapeutic goals. Some may be surprised to learn that drama therapy is for all ages. Find out more here.
Drama therapy modalities that I draw from:
-Developmental transformations: I would describe this as trauma-informed therapeutic improv. It involves spontaneous embodied play that frees up stuck patterns and points out trauma schemas.
To find out more you can check out: https://www.developmentaltransformations.com/
-Psychodrama: Think of parts work, but on its feet! We could speak with your inner child. We could challenge your inner critic. We could sit with your childhood dog. The possibilities are endless.
